NZ TEAM AT BEIJING OLYMPIC GAMES PROTECTED BY ACTIVEPURE

14 FEBRUARY 2022

Following a very successful deployment at the Tokyo Olympic Games New Zealand company Big Blue has been re-appointed to deliver ActivePure technology to help protect the New Zealand Team at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

ActivePure Technology is a continuous, full-coverage, real-time air and surface disinfection technology that attacks and reduces the virus that causes COVID-19 both in the air and on surfaces.

Units have been deployed inside New Zealand Team village areas at the Olympic Winter Games, and NZHQ Fanzones in Auckland and Wanaka.

Managing Director Paul Wiggans says Big Blue is very pleased to be helping the New Zealand Team perform to its best during the Olympic Winter Games. “The last 12 months have been incredibly busy, we have deployed thousands of ActivePure Units into New Zealand, from hospitals to hotels, childcare establishments and homes but our support of the New Zealand Teams in both Tokyo and now Beijing is a real highlight.

New Zealand Team Chef de Mission to Beijing 2022, Marty Toomey is delighted to have the addition of ActivePure as an extra layer of protection for the New Zealand Team in Beijing.

“By targeting viruses in the air around us ActivePure greatly reduces the chance of transmission of the Covid-19 virus which is just critical for our athletes. We need to have the extra layer of protection to reduce risk to the New Zealand Team and make sure they get to the start-line ready to perform their best.

Using technology originally developed by NASA, ActivePure sanitises indoor air and surfaces by releasing powerful and safe oxidisers into the air that are proven to attack and reduce viruses, bacteria, moulds and fungi quickly and effectively. It has been tested and shown to be effective against the actual SARS-CoV-2 virus (the virus that causes COVID-19).

ActivePure is already used by millions of people worldwide and is becoming a key element in the approach of many NZ businesses COVID response plans.

Wiggans says after seeing the extensive testing and having the literature on the technology reviewed and accepted by leading New Zealand clinical microbiologist Dr Arthur Morris, the health benefits of bringing this tech down under for New Zealanders to place in their workplaces and homes were clear.

Portable and cost-effective to run, an ActivePure unit can sanitise an area of up to 180m2. Simply plug it in and walk away. Units are available to rent or own. For more information visit www.activepure.co.nz.
